Eligibility

Eligibility Requirements for SAVES:

      • Must be a Resident of Miami-Dade County.
      • Must have an eligible immigration document and must be within the five-year limit from the date
        of entry to receive services.

Eligible immigration status

        • Entrants – Restricted to Cubans or Haitians (in removal proceeding)
        • Public Interest and Humanitarians parolee – Cubans and Haitians
        • Parolees -> Cubans, Haitian Afghans or Ukrainians
        • Asylees -> All nationality
        • Refugee -> All Nationality
        • New categories of ORR – eligible Ukrainian populations and other non-Ukrainian individuals
          displaced from Ukraine
        • Special Immigrants of Iraqi or Afghan Nationality
        • Victims of Human Trafficking – All Nationality.
          Only with a certified letter from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (ORR
          Certification Letter-Trafficking Victim, to be verified by calling the number listed at the
          bottom of the letter.)
        • Amerasian.

        • I-94 with eligible code -> For eligible nationality Public Interest and Humanitarians parolee – Cubans and Haitians
        • Asylee Stamp → All nationality Asylees -> All nationality
        • I-571 Refugee Document → All nationalityNew categories of ORR – eligible Ukrainian populations and other non-Ukrainian individuals
        • Asylum Approval Letter → All nationalitySpecial Immigrants of Iraqi or Afghan Nationality
        • Pending Removal Hearing → Cubans and Haitians
        • Court letter stating that they are in Removal processing -> Haitians & Cubans
        • I-862 stating that individuals are in removal proceedings -> Haitians & Cubans
        • I-220A Order of Release on Recognizance → Cubans and Haitians
        • I-797 with I-589 (receipt notice of asylum application, biometric, court hearing) – Cubans & Haitians
        • I-797 with I-589 (receipt notice of approved asylum) -> any nationality
        • I-765 Employment Authorization (EAD) with eligible code –> All Nationality
        • I-551 LPR Card with the appropriate category with eligible code and date -> All nationality
        • Trafficking Victim or Victim of Trafficking (VOT) → ORR Certification Letter -> All Nationality.

  • For Cubans on I-94 or passport with (CFR, CP, CU6, CPD DT
  • For Ukrainians or anyone who lived in Ukraine I-94 with code (“UHP, U4U)
  • For Afghans and Special immigrant on I-94 or passport of Iraq (SI or SQ codes)
  • Asylees for any nationality with (AS1-AS8
  • Refugees with I-94 or passport with (RE1- RE9)
  • Victim of Trafficking Family Member eligibility →Certification letter is not required; Immigration status (T2/3/4/5/6, etc.) is required.
  • Amerasians with Codes AM1, AM2, or AM3)
  • Vietnamese Passport Amerasian Documentation
